The photographer is J. Ross Baughman who shot this as part of a special for LIFE magazine, but this was ultimately excluded from the published article. I’m culturally female. I don’t really believe in one true gender, but I do participate in some of the rituals I was raised in, when I feel like it. And I enjoy participating in the traditions of other genders too sometimes.
I’m only female on Christmas and Easter, for my parents.
